Dash Rendar is a Corellian smuggler and mercenary in the Star Wars expanded universe, primarily known for his role in the multimedia project, Shadows of the Empire.
He is portrayed as a skilled pilot and a rogue, often working for his own interests but ultimately possessing a strong sense of morality. Rendar operates the modified Corellian freighter, the Outrider.
Dash Rendar first appeared in the Shadows of the Empire novel, video game, comic book series, and other associated media, which were released in 1996. The character quickly became a fan favorite.
In Shadows of the Empire, Rendar is hired by Prince Xizor, but he later aids the Rebel Alliance, playing a crucial role in their fight against the Galactic Empire.
